Kathleen Ruff,

The School of Population and Public Health at the University of British Columbia has set up a Gallery of Public Health to educate faculty, staff, students and visitors regarding a wide variety of public health themes, such as the history and development of evidence-based health interventions; public health advocacy; healthy communities; climate change and health; quackery; and more.

One of the displays includes a series of images about asbestos, including a chunk of asbestos (safely sealed) and a short summary of Canada’s shameful role in promoting the asbestos industry.

Congratulations to the UBC School of Population and Public Health for promoting awareness of the struggles that have been waged in the past to defend public health and the continuing need to defend public health today.
